Year 5 pupil designs the Oswestry Youth Music Festival logo

27 Mar 2018

When the Oswestry Youth Music Festival asked children to design a new logo for the 2018 festival Keira Kendall-Taylor, a Year 5 pupil from Bellan House, thought she would give it a try. Over 70 children entered the competition and Keira’s design was the one that caught the judge’s eye.

Each year the organisers of the Festival change their logo and produce 1000 stickers that are presented to each competitor. The winning design also features on the Festival programme. This year there will be 450 young people taking part in this ever-growing musical event; Keira herself is entering with her instrument, the flute.

Oswestry Youth Music Festival committee chairman and local councillor, Paul Milner, said, “Keira’s design was chosen because of its clarity and the way it epitomises the Festival. The response from entrants has been phenomenal and because of this we have added an extra day to the itinerary. It’s going to be fantastic event”.
