Wellington School’s Headmaster Moves on to New Chapter

The Board of Governors of Wellington School has announced that its Headmaster, Mr Henry Price will be leaving the School at the end of the next academic year.
Henry Price, who became Headmaster at the leading independent school in 2014, will be joining the prestigious Oakham School in Rutland as Headmaster. Henry will be moving closer to family and has existing connections with the School.
Henry joined the School from Rugby where he was Head of Classics and a Senior Housemaster. Educated at Eton and Oxford, he has maintained the strong academic reputation of the School, whilst emphasising the importance of a rich co-curriculum and excellent pastoral care.
Wellington School’s Chair of Governors, Anna Govey, offered her congratulations to Henry, Mary and their family on this new challenge “it is testimony to the quality of his leadership, integrity and passion for education; we are delighted this has been recognised by Oakham School.”
Anna Govey continues, “over the coming months, the Board of Governors will conduct a thorough recruitment process and is confident of making an outstanding appointment to lead the School from September 2019. Wellington has an excellent reputation nationally and locally for the quality of its academic results, the breadth of opportunity beyond the classroom and its strong relationships across the School. We will undoubtedly attract a very strong field.”

Founded in 1837, the Senior School provides boarding and day pupil education for over 600 boys and girls aged 11 to 18, with a further 200 in the Prep School. The School occupies a 35-acre site, in the heart of the Somerset.
