Wellington School Pupils in Dramatic Success

28 Jul 2017

The Drama Department at Wellington School is celebrating as pupils are storming ahead in the drama stakes, with a stupendous 100% pass in their LAMDA Exams.

Twenty pupils from Year 7-12 entered the drama exams and 50% achieved a coveted Distinction grade.

Every LAMDA student must learn, direct and perform up to three pieces from different time periods and answer questions on their pieces and drama practitioners used. Our students performed an eclectic mix of contemporary and older pieces including the works of Ibsen, Tom Morris and Shakespeare.

“All these pupils have worked tremendously hard on their set pieces and have put in effort and research beyond what it usually required,” commented Wellington School’s Director in Residence Gary Gordon. “In addition, many of have been involved in internal drama productions over the past term and contributed to the vibrant drama department. This is a splendid achievement for all involved and we look forward to another superb set of results next year.
