Wellington School Celebrates GCSE Results
13 Aug 2021
After a year that has seen so much disruption and uncertainty, students at Wellington School were today celebrating their GCSE results.
They have taken an unwaveringly positive approach to their learning throughout what has been a very challenging time, and their commitment, hard work and determination has seen them achieve some excellent grades.
Lucy achieved the top grade 9 in all 9 of her subjects, whilst Kayvan, Barney and Kelly each secured an impressive 8 grade 9s. Both Lucy and Kayvan also achieved a grade A in the challenging Additional Mathematics qualification.
Headmaster Eugene du Toit commented, “we are all very proud of what our students have achieved this past year. They have worked extremely hard and shown impressive resilience and determination in the face of significant challenges. The excellent results students are celebrating are testament to both their ability and application and we are delighted by their success.
“It’s very important that we recognise and applaud the support and encouragement our teachers have offered students this year. Whether in class or teaching online, teachers have gone above and beyond to ensure that students have learned and been engaged with their work. My thanks also goes to our students’ parents, whose steadfast support of their children has played a vital role in their success,” concluded Eugene du Toit.
