Warriors squad train at Malvern College
19 Feb 2013
The complete Worcester Warriors playing squad trained at Malvern College on Tuesday which was their designated mid-season assessment day. The indoor facilities provided by the College enabled Richard Hill and his squad of players to carry out the planned training day in spite of the wintery conditions outside. Players worked in groups, to set their targets for the season with club coaches Richard Hill and Nigel Redman and Conditioning & Fitness coach Stuart Pickering. They tested their fitness with rounds of water polo, quick cricket and basketball in sessions led by the College staff.
Not many school rugby players have lunch with their sporting heroes and it was an exciting day for the school’s best rugby prospects, who were able to meet the Warriors players in an informal setting. The partnership between Worcester Warriors and Malvern College is a strong one, and 8 of the College players are talented enough to play in the Elite Player Development Group (EPDG). Sport remains a key part of the education offered at Malvern and these boys may even find their careers heading in the direction of Rugby Union. Our thanks go to the Warriors squad for their professionalism and their approachability.
