Twelve Stonyhurst rugby players selected for representative teams

Twelve Stonyhurst College rugby players have been selected to play for representative teams at county, regional and academy level, following their recent selection trials. Matthew Isola was selected for the Lancashire U15 XV squad, Oliver Dean, James Singleton and Joshua Katz will join the Lancashire Presidents XV and Jack Scaffardi will play for the North Lancashire squad. Victor Keunen, Favour Maduka, Patrick Porter, William Metcalf and Santi Morgan-Garcia will play for the Lancashire U16s, with Victor and Favour having the further honour of joining the U16 North of England squad. Sixth formers Matthew Radley and Tom Morgan have been selected to play in the U18 Sale Academy Training Squad.
Stonyhurst’s Director of Sport, Simon Charles, said: “We are delighted 12 of our pupils have been selected for these high profile representative teams. It will be a great experience for them competing at such a high level and is just reward for all their hard work and commitment.”
Stonyhurst College, the Jesuit co-educational day and boarding school in Lancashire, has a distinguished tradition of producing professional rugby players, including Scottish International, Joe Ansbro, Ian Balshaw, Will Greenwood and Kieran Bracken.
