Trinity student set for the big screen

Trinity student, Alexander Molony, will feature on an English adaptation of the family adventure film The Big Bad Fox and Other Tales.

Released in cinemas across the UK on 3 August, Alexander joins a cast of well-known names, including Bill Bailey, Adrian Edmondson, Justin Edwards, Matthew Goode, Celia Imrie, Phill Jupitus, and Giles New, as he voices the character of Alex, who is one of the chicks.

On taking on the role, Alexander said: “It was really fun to be a part of this film as the story made me laugh a lot! It was really interesting to be working with the animation that they already had, as I haven’t done that before. The style of animation is very different to what is usually on in the cinemas and I like that it is different and stands out”.

From the creators of the Academy Award nominated Ernest and Celestine, comes The Big Bad Fox and Other Tales, a hilarious adventure about a gang of animal misfits. Told through beautiful hand drawn animation, the story unfolds around these lovable countryside creatures as they try (and fail), to fulfil their traditional roles in the farm and the forest.

The French film premiered in 2017 at the Annecy International Animation Festival. Earlier this year, it won France’s Cesar Award for best animated film and earned three Annie Award nominations, including best independent animated film.
