Trinity School’s top talent take on Little Shop of Horrors

‘Feed me Seymour!’ Trinity School’s top talents from the Drama and Music Departments took on Little Shop of Horrors, a charming, kooky and hilarious 1950s musical sci-fi spoof. On 2nd, 3rd and 4th December, over 30 boys and girls from years 10 to 13 performed the classic musical to a large and enthusiastic audience, ably assisted by a 12 strong back-stage crew and superbly accompanied by a band of 10 musicians.
Little Shop of Horrors is the tale of down and out florist assistant, Seymour, who becomes an overnight sensation when he discovers an exotic plant with a morbid craving for human flesh. However, the plant has far greater plans than Seymour can imagine as it grows into a bad-tempered, foul-mouthed carnivore who offers fame and fortune in exchange for feeding its growing appetite…
Archie Pointing (Year 11), a plant puppeteer, said: “It is hugely enjoyable being a puppeteer in this production, it is a perfect blend of both practical and technical theatre.”
Matt Morris (Year 13), stage manager, said: “I’ve had the privilege to work on three past Trinity productions but managing Little Shop of Horrors has definitely been the most fun.”
Andrew Godfrey, Head of Drama Productions at Trinity, praised the boys and girls involved:
“Staging a comedy is always enormous fun. The large cast of talented actors and crew alike have worked hard to put together a highly professional production.”
