Trinity School pupils celebrate best ever A-level results

There were scenes of cheering and mutual congratulation outside Trinity School today as happy Sixth Formers gathered to share their A-level results with waiting parents and each other.
Trinity students achieved their best ever A-level results with 92% A*-B grades and 99.5% A*-C grades and with some 50 pupils achieving three A grades or better. The vast majority of Trinity pupils will go to university this autumn with destinations as diverse as Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial College, UCL, Warwick, Birmingham, Bristol and Southampton to name but a few.

Mark Bishop, Headmaster, praised the hard work of pupils and teachers in the School and said: “Congratulations to all our students who have worked very hard to achieve some excellent results. My thanks go to all the staff for their incredible commitment and support to help pupils achieve their best.”

Among the success stories were Janey Fretwell who achieved an impressive 4 A*s and goes to study Medicine at Edinburgh and twins
Sophie and Ben Foreman who achieved 2 A* and 4 As between them. Sophie (2 A* and A) goes to Warwick to study History
and Ben (3 As) goes to Warwick to study Philosophy.

Trinity School welcomes applications to its Sixth Form from boys and girls who want to be challenged and fulfil their potential. Examples of pupils’ achievements:
Barney Wolstenholme achieved 3 A*s and 1 A goes on to study Music at Cambridge. He said: “I am over the proverbial moon! I am very excited to be going off to uni and very grateful to everyone at Trinity who helped me. And the great thing is that I have managed to equal my brother’s results! ”

Matthew Raven achieved A* and 3 As and goes on to study Physics at Birmingham. He said: “I am genuinely thrilled with my results! I want to thank Trinity for everything they have done for me.”

Kaushik Sureshkumar achieved 3 A*s and 1 A and goes on to study Mathematics at Oxford. He said: “I am really happy with my results. I wasn’t sure how well I would do but thankfully I have met my offer. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Trinity and it’s been a pleasure to be part of such a good school.”

Andy Fanthorpe achieved A* and 2 As and goes on to study Classics at Oxford.

Grace Sinden achieved 3 As and goes off to study French Literature and English Literature at Kings College London. She said: “I am really happy with my results. Coming to Trinity has been the best decision. I was delighted with the teaching I received and have felt really well supported. I know that this was crucial in helping me to achieve my goal of going to Kings. ”

Maddie Stedman achieved 3 A*s and 1 A and goes on to study Physics at Oxford. She said: “I didn’t really
get much sleep last night. I was hoping to meet my offer, but this has exceeded my expectations”.
