23 Feb 2016

Promising 17 year-old rugby player Reece McCarthy of Trinity School (Croydon) has recently been selected for the England Lambs U18 squad, following in the footsteps of recent Trinity graduates Bryan Hotston (2015) and Ali Connor (2014). The England Lambs are known for their expansive style of rugby and provide an excellent opportunity for up and coming players to showcase their talent.

McCarthy, in Year 13, is well aware of the opportunity he has been presented with: “I was very pleased to be selected and I’m really excited to pull on the Lambs jersey. I’m looking forward to playing rugby at a more competitive level, with and against some of the most talented players from all over the country.”

The Lambs are due to play several matches over the next few months, with their first match against the Irish Exiles scheduled for the 31st January. The team will also embark on a tour of Argentina, where they will be playing a series of matches in March.

Director of Rugby, Aaron Liffchak, said: “At Trinity we are very proud to continue the recent tradition of providing players to the England Lambs National side. Reece will be an excellent addition to the team and will enjoy the free-flowing style of the Lambs. His selection really is a credit to the hard work he has put in to his rugby during his time at Trinity and we wish him all the best.”
