Thames Christian School – SPORTING ACHIEVEMENTS

05 Apr 2018

We have had a run of sports successes in recent weeks. In football our team achieved a hat trick, winning the ISA small schools junior football tournament for the third time running.  Ade, Year 9, did well in the trials for the Wandsworth tennis team and will compete at the London Youth Games in the U18 team as he was too good for the U14 team. Emi, Year 9, put in a sterling effort at the 2018 Surrey County Swimming Championships at the London Aquatics Centre, achieving personal bests in both 50m freestyle and 50m backstroke.

Demonstrating grit and determination Jemima, Year 11, and Jimmy, Year 8, performed impressively at the ISA SW London Cross Country. Jemima came 2nd and Jimmy 9th, qualifying them both for the ISA Nationals which were unfortunately cancelled twice due to the snow. Jemima came 14th in the senior girls XC at the London Schools Athletics XC Championship and has received a letter of consideration for the English Schools Cross Country team. She also achieved good results in the Saucony English XC at Parliament Hill. Her team came 12th out of 26 and individually she moved up 38 places this year.
