Steinway concert at Trinity School celebrates thriving partnership
20 Nov 2014
Senior pianists at Trinity School provided the ideal alternative to bonfire night last 5th November. Fourteen boys and two girls enchanted their audience with their fine interpretations of pieces drawn from a wide repertoire of classical music spanning four centuries, from Scarlatti to Poulenc. The recital also included an original composition by Micah Richmond (Year 13) – pictured front row second from left.
It is now over two years ago that Trinity became London’s first All-Steinway secondary school and the partnership between Trinity and Steinway has gone from strength to strength. Craig Terry, the MD of Steinway & Sons, was present for the occasion and presented Sebastian Elliott (Year 12) – pictured right – with the Steinway Scholar award for 2014. As part of his prize, Sebastian will receive piano lessons with the renowned Prof. Vanessa Latarche, Head of Keyboard at the Royal College of Music and will give a recital in Venice at the beautiful Palazzo Cavagnis in late 2015.
Mr Terry commented: “I can hardly believe the significant enhancement in the quality of playing over the last 3 years. The pianists played with wonderful dexterity and feeling.
