Players and coaches from the netball Superleague, the England Squad and the Barbados coaching team were involved in the two day camp, with over 40 girls aged 6 – 13 being coached on their shooting, movement around the court and defence. The camp ended with a versatility tournament with many girls being awarded certificates for their efforts and for the improvement they had shown over this intensive course.
“This is the first netball camp we have held at St Swithuns”, says Roger Marshall, co-founder of Squall Junior Netball and Deputy Head of St Swithun’s Junior School, “ It has been a tremendous success, not only in improving the girl’s skills but also in promoting the sport in the Winchester area and enthusing the girls about sport in general.”
The next 2 day camp is booked for May half term with further camps in the summer holidays and October half term and are open to girls aged 6 – 13 in the Winchester area. Further information can be found on www.squallnetball.co.uk.
