St Swithun’s Juniors at the South Regional Schools’ Biathlon Championships

Following their success in the Hampshire biathlon last week 16 St Swithun’s Junior girls competed in the South regional schools’ biathlon on Sunday 7th October. They all ran 500 metres and swam 50 metres against girls from Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Hampshire. St Swithun’s achieved some excellent results against over 50 competitors in each event.
In Year 3, Olivia Busher from Southampton was 3rd, Georgie Richards from Alresford was 9th and Mia Clark from Winchester was 10th, with Agnes Bracey-Davis, Amelia Tirado and Anna Morley also gaining personal best times.
In Year 4, Iona Morley from Chandler’s Ford was 4th and Annabel Yeatman from Winchester 12th, with Kate Baxter and Sophie Nicholson achieving highly commendable results.
In Year 5, Anastasia Lawrence from Winchester was 3rd in the run and 4th overall, Evie Johnson, also from Winchester was 2nd in the swim and 6th overall, with Jemima Kennett, Jenna Lowe, Olivia Bracey-Davis and Florence Goodhand also running and swimming extremely well.
