23 Feb 2016
A team of Year 10 Business students from St Edmund’s College have been awarded the Runners-up prize in the Regional Final of ‘The Real Business Challenge’ run by Coca Cola Enterprises. The aim of the competition is to support and enhance the development and skills of young people linked to Business and Enterprise.
To enter, the team submitted their initial project to ‘The Real Business Challenge’ and Coca Cola Enterprises then selected the ten best entries from each region with the team reaching the Regional Final which took place on Thursday 28th January in the Kia Oval, London.
During the day the teams were presented with an envelope and had only four hours to work on an unseen business challenge linked to current business and the external environment. They had to develop an anti-litter campaign for their local area using social enterprise and an effective promotion and marketing campaign. The aim of this challenge on the day was to give the students the opportunity to practice skills from team work to presentation skills to developing financial capabilities.
At the end of the day the students had to present their work to a panel of five judges and were eventually awarded the Runners-up prize which is a fantastic placement out of the 125 schools that entered.
Mr Durán, Headmaster, said: ‘I congratulate the team on this strong performance against so many other schools. The future of business looks bright for our Edmundian students!’
