St Edmund’s celebrate GCSE results
19 Oct 2017
We are delighted to announce that in a year where GCSE grades are reported to have dipped our cohort has returned an impressive set of results. A*/A (including 7 or above) grades increased by over 6% to 43%, 23% above the national average.
2017
Grades A* – A (including 7 or above) 43%
Grades A* – B (including 6 or above) 71%
Grades A* – B (including 5 or above) 73%
Grades A* – C (including 4 or above) 90%
Overall pass rate 99%
Every year a number of students sit examinations early and this year if we add in those grades to the overall picture the A*/A (including 7 or above) percentage increases to 44%. We congratulate especially the two students who achieved A* with distinction.
Paulo Durán, Headmaster, said, “Congratulations to our students and their families! In a year that has seen the launch of the reformed GCSEs we are delighted with our results. They are testament from the hard work of the students and staff but also that of our new tracking systems, in place throughout the school, that enable our staff to work so closely with the students and parents ensuring that are as prepared for their examinations as possible”.
