Sporting Success for Manor Prep Pupils
01 Jun 2015
Here at The Manor Preparatory School we are delighted that a number of our pupils are celebrating great sporting success.
Zara Baker, age 9, competed at the UK Open Judo Nationals and won bronze in her age group for the under 28kg category.
Beatrice Reynard, age 11, also won bronze at the IAPS Fencing competition in the U11girls foil. She won 9 of her 10 matches in the poule and went through to the knockouts seeded 4th out of 27. She won her way to the semi-finals with resounding wins, then went out in
the semi-final in a very well fought tight match (10:8).
Eight girls from Year 5 and Year 6 competed at the IAPS Swimming Finals on Saturday 9th May at the K2 Leisure Centre in Crawley which saw a number of school records broken, and personal bests achieved. Two places were secured in the finals which saw Lottie James, age 11, and Theodora Wornham, age 10, both taking bronze medals. Lottie and Theodora are also both members of the Abingdon Vale
Swimming Club.
All the girls who competed in their various sports should be very proud of their achievements, not just in competitions but throughout the year as this is what all their hard work in training has helped them achieve!
