Southampton and England football star achieves top grades in A levels at St Swithun’s

18 year old Lucia Kendall, a student at St Swithun’s school, Winchester gained top grades in her A levels while representing England in the U19 European Football Championships.
The talented star, who plays central midfield for Southampton FC (Saints) achieved A grades in mathematics, biology and geography. Having taken most of her examinations at school, Lucia sat her final paper in the England camp in the Czech Republic on 24th June, having been called up to represent England in the U19 European championships.
Lucia has been a student at St Swithun’s in Winchester since she was 13 years old. She has combined a successful school career whilst climbing through the ranks of women’s football on Southampton FC’s Academy pathway. She played in the FA Girls Youth Cup Final for Southampton Girls and has represented England from U15 to U19 level. This season she has helped the Southampton FC first team to secure promotion to the Championship, scoring 22 goals in 27 appearances. She has successfully balanced studying for her A levels with her regular training.
Having helped Southampton FC gain promotion to the Championship next season with goals in some key matches, Lucia is planning to focus on football for the foreseeable future.

They have contributed significantly to school life beyond the classroom and many have pursued some impressive activities outside of school.
