We are proud to announce our exceptional Year 13 results, marking yet another year of extraordinary academic accomplishments. The school’s commitment to fostering a nurturing and challenging learning environment has once again yielded outstanding outcomes for its students.
There are many brilliant success stories, with over 59% of all grades being A*-A and over 73% A*-B grades. Sherfield School continues to set new standards for academic excellence.
We are always justifiably proud of our ‘value-added’ output, which is one of the best in the country. This year is no exception, as students have exceeded expectations by achieving over 42% more A* and A grades than originally projected based on baseline assessments. The school’s philosophy revolves around recognising the unique academic journey of each student and guiding them towards realising their fullest potential. Beyond the celebration of impressive results lies the essence of how a school can elevate a student’s performance beyond initial predictions.
Executive Head, Nick Brain, expressed his pride and admiration for the students’ accomplishments, stating, “These results showcase the exceptional progress and achievements of our students across a range of subjects, highlighting their hard work, determination, and the effectiveness of the school’s comprehensive educational approach.” He further added, “Our top ten performing students joined us prior to sixth form, with six out of the top ten joining in Year 5 or earlier. This affirms the value of our all-through school ethos, allowing us to nurture a personalised educational journey that culminates in outstanding A-level outcomes.”
There was an incredible 14 A* grades between our top five performers. Kiera, Mattie, Datrim, Aimee and Ruby, four of which started in our Nursery or Junior Prep. Kiera and Mattie will be going to the University of Birmingham to study Human Sciences and International Relations, respectively. Datrim will be going to UCL to study Physics, Aimee will be going to Loughborough to study Product Design Engineering and Ruby is taking a gap year to focus on acting and is planning to apply to Oxbridge next year.
Rebecca Seamark, Head of Sixth Form, commented “I am absolutely delighted with the Year 13 Results, which are testimony to the hard work our students have put into their studies over the last two years. Despite having not sat their GCSE exams due to the pandemic, I am so proud of the way students coped with the pressure of sitting their final exams. Their dedication, resilience and commitment to achieving the very best grades has certainly paid off.”
As Sherfield School continues to celebrate these outstanding results, we look forward to welcoming a new cohort of students. The school extends its best wishes to the Class of 2023 as they embark on their next chapter, confident that this strong foundation will propel them to even greater heights.
