20 Nov 2015
On Thursday 8th November seven students from Sherborne School visited the Supreme Court in London. The students were part of the Law enrichment class which is now being provided for the Lower Sixth as well as two members of the Amnesty International Group.
On arrival, the students were given a tour of the Supreme Court before sitting in on proceedings in Court 3 to watch the case of Belhaj v Straw and others UKSC 2014/0264. They were privileged to hear a legal exchange between Lord Neuberger and James Eadie QC as well as counsel for the UN Rapporteur on torture.
During the lunch break, Martin Chamberlain QC and Emily Hindle for Redress kindly answered questions from the students about the case.
