Salesian College – Inter-Schools Cross Country Championship

The Year 7, 8 and 9 boys went to Anstey Park, Alton on Tuesday 29 November 2016 to represent the College in the Inter-Schools Cross-Country Championships. In the Year 7 race there were some excellent performances with Miles Brooks (13) and Jake Reed (15) who worked tirelessly to make up ground throughout the race. Charlie Curran (20), Lincoln Mandaza (28) made up the first four Salesian runners. Zach Turner (57) also worked really hard in a very competitive race. The team finished in 4th place overall.
In the Year 8 race Callum Hobley ran superbly well and demonstrated real consistency to his running at the moment. Harvey Quarry (29), Alfie Mumford (44), Daniel Gontard (52) all did really well. Jack Barney and Benjamin Wells also showed great determination to complete the race. Overall, Salesian finished 5th in the team event.
In the Year 9 race, Salesian dominated with Oliver Harris producing an unbelievable display finishing in 1st place. He backed this up with his 1st place in Senior District event the week before. Elliot Allin (4), Ben Whitehead (17), and Cameron Robinson (21) also produced outstanding displays. Oliver Turner (42) also performed really well. Overall, Salesian finished runners-up in the team event.
