RGS Worcester Oxbridge Success realises a family dream

Five outstanding students at RGS Worcester have received offers from Oxford and Cambridge Universities.  The offers cover a wide range of subjects and show the high level of academic achievement at the School.

Head Girl, Laura Curtis, whose father Tim (former Worcestershire and England Cricketer) teaches at RGS, has fulfilled a family dream with her offer.  Laura’s grandfather attended Trinity Hall, Cambridge during the Second World War and was always hopeful that one of his four children or ten grandchildren would follow in his footsteps.  Laura, the youngest grandchild, has finally managed to grant her grandfather’s wish.

Tom Elgar, who hopes to study Natural Sciences at Cambridge said, “I am excited by the prospect of studying at one of the world’s best Universities and having the chance to discuss Physics, Chemistry and Maths with experts in the field.”

Mr John Pitt, Headmaster of RGS Worcester, said, “I am delighted for these students who have worked very hard to obtain their offers; congratulations to them all.  They certainly all have bright futures ahead of them.”
