RGS Worcester – Nott a bother
07 May 2014
A Worcester schoolboy has been selected for the England U16 rugby team, which beat Wales 24-22 in a junior international game last weekend.
Josh Nott, a scrum-half from RGS Worcester, started in the England team, following his selection over Easter at an intensive training camp held at Wellington College. “It felt fantastic to be selected to the squad, because there were eight scrum halves at the camp from all over the country. I thought I did well in the match itself, nothing spectacular, but a good performance,” said Josh.
To reach the top table, Josh has won through from county, to the North Midlands division and then the Midlands region. The four regions then trained and played games against sides from Scotland, Wales and France at Wellington, before the England squad was called up for the Welsh international.
Josh again: “I must thank the coaches at RGS who have worked so hard to help me achieve this ambition, not just in developing skills, but also with extra gym work and putting me forward for selection.” Josh has won a place to Hartpury College where he will pursue his long-term ambition to become a rugby professional.
