RECORD A-LEVEL RESULTS FOR MAYNARD STUDENTS

The Maynard School is thrilled to announce record A-Level results  for 2015:

A2 pass rate                                      100%

Percentage of A* Grades                              38%

Percentage of A* & A Grades                      74%

Percentage of A*, A & B Grades                 91%

 

Upper Sixth Students have performed exceptionally this year, with over half of all students gaining all A* and A grades, excelling across the board.

The Maynard is delighted that most students have gained a place at their first choice of university, with 86% going on to study at Russell Group Universities including Cambridge, Bristol, Birmingham, Durham, UCL, Liverpool and Leeds.

Maynard girls have gained university places in a diverse range of courses including Accounting, Classics, Economics, English, Engineering, Fashion, Land Management, Mathematics, Physics and Psychology; seven students have gaining places to study Medicine and Veterinary Science. 

“I am absolutely thrilled with the outstanding achievements of all our students at A-level this year.” Commented Bee Hughes, Headmistress at The Maynard. “The girls have performed superbly, resulting in a record year for A-Level results! I am extremely proud of them, and delighted that they are now able to pursue their chosen dreams at their choice of university.”

 

Success stories include: 

Anastasia Bruce-Jones, from Crediton, who scored 4 A* Grades, plus an A* in the Extended Project Qualification, and has a place at the University of Cambridge to study English.

Georgina Hopgood, from Exeter, who gained 3 A* Grades and 1 A Grade, plus an A* in the Extended Project Qualification, and will be studying Veterinary Science at the Royal Veterinary College, London.

Eloise Kidner, from Manaton, who scored 4 A* Grades and will be taking a gap year.

Kavisha Mandalia, from Exeter, who gained 4 A* Grades and has a place at the University of Birmingham to study Medicine.

Tina Soh, from Exeter, who gained 3 A* Grades, plus an A* in the Extended Project Qualification, and will be studying Mathematics at Durham University.

Eleanor Niblett, from Exeter, who gained 3 A* Grades, and will be studying Accounting at  the University of Birmingham, through the KPMG School Leavers’ Programme.
