Pupils Step Up To The Principal’s Challenge In LVS Ascot Dance Extravaganza

Wednesday evening saw a packed theatre at LVS Ascot wowed by a dance extravaganza that showcased the best performers from all parts of the school. The Principal’s Challenge highlighted LVS Ascot’s all-through status with children as young as four from the Reception class strutting their stuff alongside their older counterparts up to seventeen-years-old from the Sixth Form.

The Challenge was created to inspire LVS Ascot pupils to take to the stage in a number of disciplines. With the school’s ethos to draw on students’ strengths to allow them to excel at their personal talents, they were able to perform anything from ballet and tap to modern and street dance, and show their individual skills or teamwork.

Principal of the leading independent all-ability school, Christine Cunniffe, said: “This was a wonderful opportunity for all pupils across the Junior School, Senior School and Sixth Form to share their expertise. The energy and enthusiasm from the dancers and the tremendous support of the audience created a very special evening in our theatre”.

Such is LVS Ascot’s commitment to Dance, Drama, Music and Art that it is a proud holder of the Artsmark Gold Award, held by only one in every eight schools. The Principal’s Challenge at LVS Ascot will be followed by other big arts events such as the eagerly awaited school production of Fame in January, and the LVS Ascot Music Festival, open to all young musicians across Berkshire aged 18 and under, in early February.
