Pupils at St Swithun’s School organise a Fashion Show for the Ellen MacArthur Trust
22 Oct 2012
Over 200 guests attended a fashion show organised and hosted by girls at St Swithun’s School, Winchester on Sunday evening. The event was held at the school’s performing arts centre and was staged to raise money for the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust, based in Cowes, which enables young people recovering from cancer to rebuild their confidence through sailing.
St Swithun’s girls were accompanied on the catwalk by boys from Winchester College as they showed off the latest designs from local retailers including LK Bennett, Top Shop, Crew Clothing, RARE London, Moda Rosa, Gieves and Hawkes, Cadogan and Traffic People. Stunning outfits were complimented by stylish hair and makeup courtesy of local Winchester salons Guy Kremer and Inspired Looks.
The evening raised in excess of £1,500 for the Trust through ticket sales on the night, the sale of DVDs of the event and the sale of items of clothing kindly donated by Top Shop.
St Swithun’s sixth formers and show organisers Christina and Helena Sanguinetti, Lizzie Farrington, and Claudia Strang were delighted with the response. “The evening was such a success thanks to our fantastic models, enthusiastic helpers and generous sponsors.”
