PRIOR PARK THEOLOGY TEACHER COMPLETES FARMINGTON FELLOWSHIP

Theology teacher Charlotte Cummins has been awarded a Fellowship by the Farmington Institute at Harris Manchester College, Oxford.

The Farmington Institute awards Fellowships to teachers of Theology and Religious Education whose work can be seen to directly contribute to the teaching of Theology in schools. Miss Cummins presented her final paper on the importance of teaching biblical texts in schools at Harris Manchester College to an audience which included the well-respected theologian, Alister McGrath.

Miss Cummins’ dedication to her academic subject and teaching exemplifies the importance of Theology as a subject at Prior Park College, and her new knowledge will greatly benefit the students that she teaches.

Headmaster Mr James Murphy-O’Connor, who attended the conference commented: “We enjoyed an interesting and inspiring evening at Harris Manchester College in Oxford this week. Charlotte’s presentation on the importance of teaching biblical texts in schools gave us plenty of food for thought and was well received by those listening.”
