OXBRIDGE SUCCESS FOR BISHOP’S STORTFORD COLLEGE STUDENTS

11 Mar 2013

Six students at Bishop’s Stortford College have been offered places to study at Oxford or Cambridge University.

The delighted A level students – Eleanor Costello, Matthew Underwood, Ralph Jordan, Louise Reilly, Bing Qing Cai and Chantal During – are now focussed on obtaining the required grades this summer to secure their places to study their chosen subjects, which include English, Geography, Law, Mathematics and Music.

In addition to the Oxbridge successes, 69 students (61% of all Upper Sixth Form) have one or more offers from the top 20 UK universities, as ranked by the 2013 Times Good University Guide.

“We are delighted that the talents, dedication and enthusiasm of our young men and women have, once again, been recognised by the leading universities in the country,” said Headmaster Jeremy Gladwin. “I would like to pay tribute to the hard work and focus of our students and the dedication and skills of the staff, including our three higher education and careers specialists, who provide outstanding guidance to every student. In these challenging times, it is more important than ever that young people today receive sufficient support in preparing for the important decisions they need to make about their next steps.”
