Oswestry School pupils to represent Shropshire at the Midlands Schools Golf Championship

Two golfers from Oswestry School have qualified for the Midlands Schools Golf Championship to be played at Ingon Manor Golf Club, Stratford-Upon-Avon.

3rd Form pupil Dan Haycocks and Sixth Form pupil Victoria Raffle qualified to go through to the Midlands Championships following a match at Arscott Golf Club, Shrewsbury. With over 60 young golfers playing for a place in the Championship the pair beat off stiff competition to ensure their place in the next round. Dan completed his round with Gross 75, Net 69 while Victoria scored Gross 80, Net 76.

Head of Sport, Dominic Bradburne, commented “We are extremely proud of our pupils’ achievements and the department is thrilled to be able to support Dan and Victoria in the Midlands Championship. We wish them luck and hope they qualify to go forward to the next stage of the competition.”
