Oswestry School senior golf team Rhys Edkins, Connor Owen and Victoria Raffle have qualified for the National Finals of the Independent Schools Golf Association (ISGA) competition. The team travelled to Carden Park Golf Club to play Rydal Penrhos School in the Area Cup Final of the ISGA and after some challenging play over the day Oswestry School won 2-1.

Established in 2006, the ISGA runs a series of events for independent schools throughout the UK. The main competition (Matchplay Tournament) is a knockout in which the UK is split into 17 areas. This culminates in a national final, which has previously been held at a different golf course each year.

The Oswestry School team will now go on to play the top 21 schools in the UK in the ISGA National Final on the 30th of April on the Nicklaus Course at St Mellion International Resort in Plymouth.

Director of Sport at Oswesrty School, Dominic Bradburne, commented, “The team played well and managed to beat some very stiff competition after a very closely fought match. We wish them all luck in the finals on 30th April.”
