Oswestry School footballer selected for ISFA U18 England squad

20 Jan 2018

Sixth Form pupil and sports scholar Ben Clarke from Oswestry School has been selected to play for the U18 England Independent Schools Football Association (ISFA) squad.

The ISFA is affiliated to The Football Association and is responsible for developing and promoting the game of football in the independent sector. Around 800-900 boys and girls take part in representative trials and events each season giving an opportunity to play at the highest possible level. The amount of football being played in independent schools has increased dramatically over the past 20 years and the ISFA aims to ensure the Corinthian values that the game was founded on are still followed in the 21st century.

Ben will now attend St George’s Park National Football Centre, a £105m facility set in 330-acres of Staffordshire countryside that is the home to England’s 28 national teams, to play his first matches against Welsh Colleges (Wednesday 13 December) and English Colleges (Thursday 14 December).
