Old and Young Enjoy Carols at Bromsgrove School
09 Jan 2014
Bromsgrove School was delighted to welcome forty-six visitors and their carers to its third annual Christmas “ Tea and Carols” afternoon which was held in the School’s Old Chapel. IB and A level pupils Rayan Meeran, Marius Macys and Teresa Gubern Gonzalez organised the entire event as part of their Service element for IB and Sixth Form studies. Residents from six homes for the elderly enjoyed a variety of entertainment which included carols and music provided by the School choir, brass band and jazz group. They played bingo and took part in a Christmas quiz. Finally there was a reading and prayer from the School’s Chaplain, Reverend Hedworth. This was a wonderful afternoon and the atmosphere was very warm and festive. One resident said that it had made his Christmas and the pupils who helped the afternoon run smoothly felt that their hard work was more than paid back by seeing the happy smiling faces of the residents.
