New Headmaster for the Royal Hospital School

Mr Simon Lockyer joined the Royal Hospital School, Suffolk, as Headmaster in January 2016. Simon was previously Second Master at Portsmouth Grammar School where he had been in post for the past six years. Prior to this he was a Housemaster and Head of Department at Wellington College, Berkshire.

The son of a naval officer, Simon was educated at Blundell’s School, Devon, and he went on to gain a BSc in Microbiology at the University of Newcastle in 1994. He completed his PGCE at the University of Cambridge and a Masters at the University of Buckingham.
