New Head Appointed for Wellington Prep School

The Chair of Wellington School Governors, Anna Govey, announced today that the next Head of Wellington Prep School will be Mrs Victoria Richardson.
Mrs Richardson, who is currently Head of the Lower School, Years 7 and 8, at Wellington School will take up her new post from 1st September 2020.
After obtaining a degree in Statistics from the University of St Andrews and a PGCE from Homerton College, Cambridge, Mrs Richardson started her teaching career in the Mathematics Department at Wellington in 1998.
Alongside Mrs Richardson’s outstanding pastoral experience, which has included time in the School’s boarding community, her co-curricular commitment is clear with her current involvement in the Gold Duke of Edinburgh programme and the Combined Cadet Force.
The Governors are looking forward to Mrs Richardson leading the Prep School into an exciting future. In her capacity as Head of Lower School, she has worked closely with colleagues in the Prep School and has demonstrated outstanding leadership as a member of the School’s Senior Management Team. Mrs Richardson has the ability to build outstanding relationships, is an excellent teacher who is committed to developing a love of learning in her pupils and has contributed fully to the co-curricular life of the School.
Anna Govey, Chair of Governors, said “We were particularly impressed with Mrs Richardson’s energy, enthusiasm and her absolute commitment to taking the development of the Prep School forward to the next level. Mrs Richardson has the experience and passion to continue building upon the success of the Prep School and its pupils.”
Mrs Richardson commented “I am excited and honoured to be the next Head of Wellington Prep School. ‘Learning for life’ happens in and out of the classroom and I am fully committed to engendering that love of learning from Nursery through to the transition to the Senior School at the end of Year 6.”
