New Deputy Head Announced for Royal Hospital School

The Headmaster of the Royal Hospital School, Suffolk, is delighted to announce that Mr Steven Dixon will join the School as Deputy Headmaster with effect from September 2013.
Steven is currently a Boarding Housemaster and Head of Chemistry at Haileybury, Hertfordshire. He was educated at Benet Biscop High School, Bedlington and went on to gain a Natural Science (Chemistry) degree at Exeter College, Oxford. Steven started his teaching career at Monmouth School as a teacher of Chemistry and Resident Boarding House tutor. He then spent 5 years teaching Chemistry at St. Paul’s School, London. As well as his Housemastering and Head of Department duties at Haileybury, Steven has a whole-school role in the performance management and appraisal of teaching staff, and is a major contributor to the extensive continued professional development programme at the School. He is married to Sue and has three children.
Headmaster, James Lockwood, said , “Steven has an excellent track record and very relevant experience; both academically and pastorally. I am confident that he will contribute much to the School as it moves into the next exciting phase of its development. My aim is to realise the potential of every child, to offer them a whole new world of life-changing opportunities and to provide an environment in which academic excellence is promoted through learning and shared experiences. The future is exciting at the Royal Hospital School and I am looking forward to Steven being part of the Senior Management Team”.
