Mowden Hall School – Year 5 Trip to Shipley Gallery

01 Mar 2019

Year 5 enjoyed the most fantastic day courtesy of the Shipley Gallery in Gateshead. The pupils spent the morning exploring the gallery discovering various elements of design and other delights amongst their collection. The afternoon was spent in felt making workshop, following a talk on materials and natural fibres. The pupils created beautiful felt pieces in the traditional felt making process which they have brought back to school. Further work and felt making will continue at school.

On our way home we stopped at the Angel of the North to admire the Anthony Gormley masterpiece and to learn of sculpture and creation on such an epic scale.

Such a super day full of inspiration, creativity and sunshine.
