Model United Nations Conference at Lady Eleanor Holles School
04 Mar 2014
Sixteen girls from Years 9 to 13 spent the weekend, alongside 200 other students, debating diverse issues including a meaningful ceasefire in Syria, drug smuggling, piracy around the Horn of Africa, Chinese purchase of land in other states and human trafficking. A fun, but very exhausting time was had by all and it was very encouraging to see so many of the girls questioning other delegates in their Committee.
As usual, MSJ girls excelled, with Ekaterina Haines honoured as a highly commended delegate in the Political Committee. Congratulations also to the Delegation of Vietnam (Jennifer Zhang, Ekaterina Haines, Dami Odele and Jade Chernel) which was honoured as a highly commended country in the General Assembly.
The girls are already looking forward to more success at the next MUN Conference, which will take place in Edinburgh from 14 to 16 March.
