Millfield – Prestigious university offers

Twelve pupils and OMs have received offers from the University of Cambridge and US universities so far.

The University of Cambridge has made conditional offers to Head Girl, Kirsten Meehan to read Law at St Catharine’s College and Jacob Berger to read Archaeology at Jesus College. OM Isabelle Weir has accepted an unconditional offer to read History of Art, also at Jesus College.

For entry to US universities offers to date include Pierce Widdecombe with a tennis scholarship to Ivy League, Dartmouth College. Amber Knatchbull and Isabelle McMullen have received academic scholarships to American University, Washington DC and Duke University, North Carolina respectively. Calvin Leung has received an offer to study Architecture at Syracuse University, a highly sought after course at the university. Emily Price and Louise Caldon have been offered golf scholarships to University of South Carolina and Tarleton State University in Texas. Louis Barker has received a swimming scholarship from the University of Kentucky, Arabella Bennett has been offered a full hockey scholarship to Syracuse University and Shaan Dalal has been offered a squash scholarship to Drexel University.

Other notable UK university offers to date have come from University College London (UCL), London School of Economics (LSE), Durham University and Imperial College London.

So far 20% of the Upper Sixth applying through UCAS have received unconditional offers, twice the number of the previous year. Unconditional offers are increasingly made to pupils who are considered to be outstanding candidates.
