Millfield Prep – Year 6 make survival dens in their new International Primary Curriculum (IPC) module

Year 6 moved onto their next International Primary Curriculum (IPC) module, Moving People. They had to consider the impact of people having to move without prior warning and preparation. Click here to learn more about the International Primary Curriculum.

Pupils were challenged to create dens to survive in, using limited materials provided to re-create conditions similar to those that some people may experience. They demonstrated co-operation, resilience and fantastic inquiry skills as they worked together on their shelters.

Over the next few weeks, pupils will be exploring aspects of population change, the impact of the societies and placed they have left behind, and the end journey. They will also develop an understanding of the way environments can affect humans, through science and art.
