Millfield Prep – Year 4 pupils become explorers and adventurers

Year 4 have begun their new unit ‘Explorers and Adventurers’ with some exploring of their own.

The pupils learned how to use a compass and a trundle wheel, and worked in groups to follow instructions using a map to find some hidden treasure.

Once they felt confident, the pupils then made their own directional instructions and maps for other groups to follow, while also using the skills in orienteering games that involved memory, problem solving and a lot of team work.
