Millfield Prep – Junior Maths Challenge Day

On Tuesday morning all Junior children were involved in a Roald Dahl themed Junior Maths Challenge morning. They were grouped into mixed age and ability teams to complete a maths trail around the school and some challenging group activities in the
Junior Hall.

There was a lot of mess and hilarity whilst trying to follow a recipe to create a new medicine for George’s Grandma, making the Empire State building out of spaghetti and marshmallows, and stacking chairs to create the tallest tower to keep Mrs Trunchbull out of the classroom (no real chairs were used for Health and Safety purposes!). The children were awarded points at each activity for both their achievements and more importantly, their team work.
