Millfield Prep – Charity golf tournament with rugby heroes
06 Jun 2017
Millfield Prep pupils Freddie Turnell and his brother Harry organised a charity Golf Day in aid of Cerebral Palsy at Burnham and Berrow Golf Club, which saw the two boys partnered with top former rugby players Matt Perry and Sir Gareth Edwards. The event raised more than £4,000 for the selected charity – but they won’t know the grand total until the amount is counted from an organised auction.
Former Wales Rugby player Edwards partnered Harry and Bath fullback Perry partnered with Freddie, with BBC and ITV sports broadcaster John Inverdale also taking part. In total, 70 players made their way around the course, proving an incredibly successful (albeit very cold) afternoon – the boys hope to organise the event as a regular annual tournament.
