Millfield’s Director of Swimming, Euan Dale, has been selected as a support coach for the British team at the FINA World Aquatics Championships this summer in Gwangju, South Korea.

Euan will be supporting the 25 strong British team, which includes former Millfield Swimming pupils James Guy and Cameron Kurle, and will also work alongside former Millfield Director of Swimming, Jol Finck. Current Millfield Lower Sixth pupil Danilo Rosafio will be also be representing Kenya at the same event.

Millfield is recognised as one of the top swimming clubs in Great Britain, with eleven coaches across Millfield and Millfield Prep, including Euan, a former Millfield pupil.

The school participates in a host of local, regional and national swimming competitions, and continually produces international, national and regional champions year on year. Along the way, swimmers learn lifelong skills such as effective time management, dedication and goal setting – all of which transfer to successful adult life.

Millfield has produced 24 Olympians in its short history and has had a swimmer at every Olympic Games since 1968 including champions like Duncan Goodhew, Mark Foster and most recently the incredible James Guy. The 2019 FINA World Aquatics Championships will prepare swimmers for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Euan says, “I am delighted to be selected to work with some of the best swimmers in the country, including some of our own former Millfield pupils, James and Cameron. This will be a great learning journey for myself and Millfield Swimming, and I will look to bring back the experience to Millfield to continue to bridge the gap from youth to senior swimming.”
