Kilgraston Equestrian Team members have been out in force over the summer holidays…

Hard work and determination from members of the Kilgraston Equestrian Team members have brought great success during the summer holidays..

Daisy and Millie L have had a great summer (apart from Daisy breaking her jaw!). They both competed in the PC80 regional qualifiers at Auchlishie in showjumping and eventing for Strathearn Pony Club – Daisy won her section and Millie was sixth in her section. This qualified them both for the Regional Championships at the Ian Stark Equestrian Centre in Selkirk.  Here, they both did brilliantly, both going clear XC in the eventing section. In the showjumping, Millie and Bacardi were unplaced but did brilliantly, jumping one of only 17 double clears out of 130 competitors.

Issie J and her horse Joey had a great day at PC National Champs, (they qualified as part of a team for the 100 eventing, having won the ODE at Areas) – although unfortunately the rest of the team had a few problems with the XC, which was a challenging course. She and Joey had a dressage of 34 in their first ever long arena, and a double clear, but with time faults XC.  Issie and Joey also went to Hopetoun to do their second BE100 in July and came eighth with a double clear and a few time faults XC.

Charlotte Jand her pony Hazel were selected for areas, and qualified as individuals for the dressage in the regional champs ( she and Hazel came 2nd at Areas ) and as part of the team for the 80 jumping (they won). It was her first time at the Regional Champs  and she came 4th in her section at dressage and although the team weren’t placed in the SJ, she jumped her biggest round yet at 90 with just one pole down.

Mischa Sand Charlotte J both competed in the showjumping at Perth Show with Mischa winning the 80cm and Charlotte coming second.

Sasha N and her horse Bailey have also both had a busy summer. Sasha qualified for PC  Champs with an Individual first at the Area Eventing competition for the third year running and first with her Team and came first with the same team at the dressage qualifier. Sasha was also first Individually and first with her Team in the Novice Eventing Pony Club Championships.

“Well done girls. I’m very proud of you all,” said Kilraston’s Equestrian Manager, Raechel MacLean
