INAUGURAL SANTA DASH RAISES £2,000 FOR LORD WANDSWORTH COLLEGE FOUNDATION

14 Jan 2016

400 cheerful students and staff from Lord Wandsworth College recently took part in the first ever Santa Dash.

The event was a huge success, putting smiles on faces all around the college, and raising £2000 for charity.  Organisers watched the weather forecast avidly as Storm Desmond battered the north of England, but high winds didn’t stop the red and white clad runners.  Some pupils pushed their friends on a make-shift sleigh and one pupil with a broken leg was pushed around the course in a wheelchair by her friends.

First to finish was marathon runner and Head of Classics, Mr Alex Hamilton, followed closely by the fastest boy, U6th former Sam Beckett, and the fastest girl, 3rd former Emily Harris.

Hot chocolates and mince pies afterwards ensured everyone warmed up sufficiently to return to lessons, with a festive spring in their step.
