Homefield Staff Go The Extra Mile

27 Sep 2016

Last weekend, a determined team of staff from Homefield Preparatory School set out on the Thames Path Challenge to raise funds for The Children’s Trust in Tadworth.

Lying between the team and their destination was 28 scenic kilometres, beginning at Bishop’s Park in Fulham and coming to a close at Hurst Park in East Molesey. The weather could have been kinder to the group as the rain threatened to dampen their spirits but nothing was to deter them from crossing the finish line together. Excluding a brief stop in Richmond Park for some well-earned nourishment, the challenge took the team approximately six hours and 42,500 steps to complete.

Homefield and indeed The Children’s Trust, which has been one of the school’s chosen charities for several years now, are still gratefully accepting any donations. They are only £200 short of their £2,000 target and would be thrilled to get over the line in both senses. If you would like to support the team in hitting their target, please make your donations at https://www.justgiving.com/teams/HomefieldPrepSchool.

The Children’s Trust is the UK’s leading charity for children with brain injury; giving children with brain injury the opportunity to live the best life possible. More information can be found at https://www.thechildrenstrust.org.uk/
