Headington Hockey Players Help County Side To Victory

05 Jun 2018

Six Headington Hockey players have played a key role in bringing the U16 Oxfordshire Hockey squad to victory.

On Sunday 3rd June, the U16 side became the first team from Oxfordshire to win the South Counties Hockey Championship in this age group.

The girls took their title undefeated across eight games, winning five and drawing three.

Of the 22-strong squad, six girls, Lexi, Kate, Holly, Maddie, Emma and players’ player of the season Ciara, are from Headington.

Two years ago, the side finished just one position from the bottom without securing a single win while the title is also a marked improvement on last year’s result, when the girls finished with five wins and three defeats.

Well done girls!
