Hazlegrove Year 5 are buzzing about their three day experience at Naturesbase…
16 Oct 2012
Hazlegrove Year 5 recently set out on a three day expedition to Naturesbase in West Wales, where Gyles Morris and his team laid on an amazing adventure for the children.
The children camped in groups of between four and six and were responsible for duties such as making the lunch, feeding the pigs and chickens, recycling and composting. Spending their days in small groups, they completed sustainability surveys, manufactured solar ovens, built dens and created tribes, solved problems, completed wildlife investigations and sung their hearts out at an amazing campfire.
In completing these activities, the children’s knowledge and understanding of the practical applications of much of the Science and Geography that they have been learning developed appreciably, and they have returned to Hazlegrove buzzing about their experience!
