Four Royal Hospital School boys selected for National Representative Rugby
08 Apr 2013
Two more Royal Hospital School boys have been selected to play national representative rugby. Francois Rossouw and Sam Cantelo, have been picked for the U14’s Independent Schools Rugby Club squad known as ‘The Lambs’ and will be joining a tour in Ireland later this month. The duo, both 14, will be playing Blackrock College near Dublin and Crescent College in Limerick and on their return will have the opportunity to play elite clubs Leicester Tigers, Northampton Saints, Bristol Academy and Worcester Warriors.
They are two of 22 U14 players to have been selected from independent schools across the country for the forthcoming 5-day tour. Both have played for The Lambs previously when they toured Toulouse in 2012 and this year two younger Royal Hospital School boys, Max Orr and Zac Puckey, have this honour.
Rossouw and Cantelo also play for Suffolk, the Eastern Counties and are in The Northampton Saints Elite Players Development Group.
Paul Hardman, Director of Sport at the Royal Hospital School, said: “All four boys have benefited hugely from their exposure to top-level rugby. It is great for them to have this experience and develop their love for the game. We are seeing young talent at RHS grow from strength to strength”.
