Farlington School – 100% PASS RATE IN MUSIC EXAMS

15 May 2014

Congratulations to the 20 Farlington music students who took and passed the Trinity College London Music Exams on 6th May. Cornet, piano, cello, drums, flute, recorder and singing were all assessed and 2 Distinctions and 13 Merits were awarded. The examiner was impressed by the girls’ preparation and confidence.

Many of the girls prepared for the examinations by performing at the School’s Music Makers’ Concert on 30th April. It was lovely to have such a variety of instruments playing and a mixture of pupils from both the Prep and Senior School. The audience of staff, pupils, parents and grandparents were all very supportive and thoroughly enjoyed the concert.

Anne Stearns, Director of Music, commented, ‘The girls have spent many months preparing for these exams and we are very proud of all them. I would like to thank all the music department staff who have supported the girls, especially Liz Burtenshaw and Jane Thomas, our accompanists.’
